Dueling Club

Gideon ran into the Charms Class. Late again, he thought, looking at Professor Flitwick. "Professor, what are we going to learn today?" Flitwick pointed to a rectangular platform and said, "Dueling Club." Gideon walked up the platform and wondered who his opponent would be.

Hai was standing with the Hufflepuffs and the Ravenclaws.
Her cousin Cho pushed her to go up,But Hai nudged her back and grinned.

Aurora got caught up between the nudges and hurtled foreward, collapsing on the stage, embarrassed, she tried to get back into the audience, but her head of house, Professor Flitwick motioned for her to come onto the duelling platform. Aurora did, but was trembling at the same time.

Matt stood watching the girls go forward.

Professor Flitwick mumbled something, but for once, Aurora didn't pay attention to him, branding her wand.

Gideon guessed his turn would be after this and he would be dueling Matt. Flitwick cried, "Don't use violent or very dangerous spells!" Gideon watched the duelers, interested.

Aurora turned to her friend Gideon with new-found confidence and sent a simple spell to start things off.
"Impedimenta!"

Gideon ducked quickly and yelled, "Rictumsempra!" A jet of red light flashed from his wand and flew toward Aurora.

Aurora tried to dodge, but the spell caught her left hand, and was pushed back and little, feeling slightly ticklish.

"Tarantallegra!"

The spell hit Gideon, and he was tap-dancing for a few seconds. He finally regained control of himself and yelled, "Expelliarmus!"

Aurora's wand flew in the air and was caught by Hai, who threw it back to her.
"Avis!" A flock of small birds came from the tip of Aurora's wand.
"Oppugno!"

Matt watched carefully, watching how Aurora dueled, and also taking a mental note of Gideons flaws.

Gideon yelled, "Protego!" The spell bounced off and the birds vanished into thin air.

Aurora waved her wand and the shield disappeared.
"Confundo!"

Matt moved closer to the dueling rectangle, to get a better view.

Gideon ducked and then yelled, "Everte Statum!"

Aurora found herself thrown backwards, but managed to get the words "Serpentsortia!" out.

Gideon saw a white snake jump out from Aurora's wand. He quickly muttered, "Evanesco." It then vanished.

"Petrificus Totallus!" called Aurora, taking advantage of Gideon's no-defence.

Matt started to get bored, and croached down on the floor, by the Dueling Rectangle.

"Comun you can do it..." Matt muttered under his breathe to Aurora.

Gideon was petrified, but then he raised up with mock anger again and yelled, "Stupefy!"

(You can't just dodge every spell! )

Aurora was knocked about a bit, she shook her head. "Aguamenti!" A jet of water bursted out of Aurora's wand and headed straight for Gideon.

Gideon was blasted back from the jet of water. "Grr...Depulso!" He yelled, sending the Knocking Spell toward Aurora.
